Hans Lamsting Grawert was born in 1470 in Gr. Nenndorf (today Bad Nenndorf near Hannover). He married in 1495. Died in Algesdorf, Schaumburg.
Apparently he was a high ranking civil servant.
(he is very popular with many genealogists in the USA, in which people trace him as one of their forefathers).
He had six children:
Catarine, married a Mr. Widdel
Antonius born 1500. He was the founder of the “New seminary of Bremen” (in Buxtehude?) and was the first provost. He died 1564 in Bremen and had no children.
Beneke was also born in 1500 (probably twins). He married Metke Langwer.
They had six children. Four daughters and two sons. Died in Gr. Nenndorf.
Hille, born 1502. She married Braun Amerpol and died in Rodenberg/Schaumburg.
Alheit born 1504. She married H.Schrader. Died in Barsinghausen-Bantorf, Hannover.
Anneke born 1506. No further details. Died in Rodenberg-Grove, Schaumburg.
This means, that of the six children of Hans Lamsting only Beneke passed on the family name, as his brother had no children and the other children were girls.
Beneke’s children were:
Goedert had one son, Toennis a carpenter. Goedert died in Hamburg.
Beneke II . He had two daughters Catarine und Metke.
Ilsche married Albert Bock. Died in Gr. Nenndorf.
Catrine married Albert Lohmann.
Margrete married Johann Heien.
Metke married Hans Tegtmeier.
Five Bock’s, four Tegtmeier’s and three Heien’s can be found as next generation.
Whether Toennis had any children is unknown.
Thus there is no indication, that my family comes out of Hans Lamsting’s family tree.
However, he could well be related to Hinrich Grawert from Emden, who was also a leading civil servant.
